Abstract: Presentation will explore the history behind the Japanese video game industry, but also explore how this technology was able to shape Japan into the entertainment and cultural hub it is known for today. Will look at how fandom, anime, and other entertainment properties shaped the video games market as a whole, and see how much Japan contributes to this growing market.
